christopher cross concert

I got the chance last week to have a lot of fun. I took off Tue,Wed,Thur to prepare and setup the sound for a Christopher Cross Concert in Hanford, CA. It was part of a benefit for a local Adventist Health hospital. Tuesday and Wednesday I was in Coarsegold helping get all the equipment ready. That meant (re)making snakes(the big cord bundle thingies) and moving gear around to the proper racks(the big boxes you see near the mixer dude). I also got to tear into a Midas Verona 480(the mixing board) and rearrange the panels(just guess). For the astute, we moved the stereo fader bank to the right end. The picture below putting in the last screws after the switch.

We packed all the gear up Thursday morning about 3:30 and got two hours of sleep before heading down and setting it all up. The next pic is the board all set to go after the sound check.

During the break I headed over to where the Gala was being held and slipped in the back door to grab some food. Oddly enough, both PUCites, Gemabelle and Ruthie, that I know are living in the area were at the event and volunteering. Quite a surprise. Then I went back over for the concert and got to sit back and enjoy the concert. Here’s a shot from my favorite part, the acoustic set.

After the concert, we were dragging really bad. We finally did get it all packed up (thanks to the awesome guys helping us) and grabbed some Taco Bell. I got four hours of sleep and then it was back on the road for me because I had to work that day. That’s a very short version of a very busy three days.

cheers!
